FoundOcean shortlisted for the Society of Petroleum Engineers Offshore Achievement Awards 2012
01/02/2012

FoundOcean is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ (SPE) Offshore Achievement Awards in the Offshore Renewables Category. The winner will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 15th March, 2012 at Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen, Scotland.
One of only three companies shortlisted for the Offshore Renewables category in this year’s Awards, FoundOcean has experienced strong growth in the sector since it became an active participant in 2003. The company was able to draw on 45 years’ experience working in subsea and offshore foundation grouting for the global energy construction industries.
Andy Venn from FoundOcean says: “Being shortlisted for this Award in the renewables sector is recognition of our development as a company and our strategic approach. With our offshore service base in Livingston we are well placed to support this exciting industry that is fast developing in Northern European waters.”
Recent projects include: the test tidal turbine in the Fall of Warness for Tidal Generation Limited; Ormonde offshore wind farm – 31 pre-piled four-legged jacket structures for 30 turbines and one substation in the Irish Sea; and two jacket-foundation substations for Walney phase 1 and phase 2 offshore wind farms.
The company has also been contracted to complete grouting operations for a further three European offshore wind farms, including Nordsee Ost – the 48-turbine wind farm off the coast of Germany, and is in final negotiations for a further three renewables projects totalling 360 structures, all of which are scheduled to commence in 2012.
The Offshore Renewables Award recognises business growth resulting from successful development and extension of a company’s business into the offshore renewable energy sector. The judges are looking for evidence that businesses have instigated a clear and thorough strategic business development process, identified key markets and opportunities, achieved a successful market entry strategy and captured market share.
