Damien Murphy, Engineering Manager
Damien began his career in the engineering department at Liebherr Container Cranes before joining FoundOcean in 2007 as a Mechanical Engineer. In 2009 he was promoted to Engineering Manager and is based in our Offshore Service Base.
Damien also manages offshore projects; notable ones include a large-scale member reinforcement project on three platforms in the Norwegian sector, the world’s deepest pipeline support grout bag and the installation of a tidal turbine in the Pentland Firth.
Damien has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Limerick.

Richard Latham, Project Engineer
Richard’s engineering career started at Carillion Civil Engineering followed by a period at the Manchester Metrolink Track Renewals Project. He joined FoundOcean in 2008 and is based at the Marlow office as a Project Engineer.
Richard’s responsibilities include the preparation of tenders and offshore working procedures together with QA and HSE procedures. When offshore, Richard supervises the plant and personnel, and is responsible for QA, HSE and client liaison.
Richard graduated in 2008 in Civil Engineering from Nottingham Trent University.

Stephen Rourke, Project Engineer
Stephen began his career as a site engineer during the construction of the Topaz oil terminal in Galway. He joined FoundOcean in December 2008 at the Marlow office as a Project Engineer. In January 2010 he moved to FoundOcean’s service base in Livingston to run the grouting materials research and development lab with a particular focus on the new FOcrete materials. Stephen has also been involved in various offshore grouting projects and FMD inspections in the North Sea and South East Asia.
Stephen has a degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Ireland, Galway.

Colin Barrett, Project Engineer
Colin is based in the Marlow office, and his main responsibilities include preparation of tenders, drawings and specifications together with quality assurance and safety procedures. Offshore responsibilities include overall supervision of plant and personnel, responsibility for safety and QA/QC applications and liaising with clients.
He has extensive experience in structural pile grouting, freespan correction and structural repair, and has worked in Brazil, North Sea, India, West Africa, Caribbean and South East Asia.

John Paul O'Sullivan, Project Engineer
John Paul joined FoundOcean in 2008 following a number of years in the construction industry. He has recently moved from our Offshore Service Base in Livingston where he was a Supervisor to the Marlow headquarters where he is now a Project Engineer.
John Paul manages offshore projects: more notable projects include a large-scale member reinforcement project on three platforms in the Norwegian sector and the world’s deepest pipeline support grout bag (1250m) for CNR off the Ivory Coast.
John holds a Diploma in Automotive Engineering.
John Paul O'Sullivan
Erlen Christiansen, Project Engineer
Erlen jioined FoundOcean in September 2010 and is based in the Marlow headquarters. He will be learning all aspects of the project engineer role including writing proposals, estimating quantities, preparation of project procedures and documentation, and liaising with clients. Erlen will also be supervising projects, both onshore and offshore.
Erlen recently graduated with an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems from the University of Edinburgh. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) from the National University of Ireland, Galway.

Mark Boyd, Construction Superintendent
Mark started his offshore career in 1983 with 2W diving. He has subsequently worked GKN Colcrete as an Equipment Operator, VSL International in Norway as an Equipment Operator and Colcrete UK as a contract Charge Hand. In 1990 Mark moved to Alpha Offshore as an Offshore Supervisor, later taken over by Seamark Systems. In 2002 Mark was promoted to Construction Superintendent.
Mark supervises and manages offshore projects around the world. His notable projects include BP Kura river crossing, Shell Sakhalin, Skene pipeline repair, the Umm Shaif Gas Development project and Gullfaks B Construction. When in the base in Livingston, Mark supervises all personnel and assists with its day to day running.

Derek Lauder, Inspection Superintendent
Derek joined FoundOcean in January 1998 as an offshore technician and went on to gain substantial experience in offshore structural grouting, grout density monitoring (GDM), IRM and flooded member detection (FMD) operations worldwide, together with fabric formwork and pipeline stabilisation techniques.
In 2006 Derek was promoted to Inspection Supervisor with responsibility for the preparation of tenders, project preparation and management, client liaison, equipment development and maintenance and in-house training of FMD/GDM personnel.

Hugh Sellars, Supervisor
Hugh is one of the longest serving members of the FoundOcean team having started with the company (then Wimpey) in 1977 as a Driller and Grouter in the Rock Stabilisation division of the company. Hugh added offshore operations to his role in the 1980s, and in 1997 was promoted to Supervisor to run projects and liaise with clients. Hugh has undertaken all aspects of the grouting process including cube making, pump and mixer upkeep and maintenance, grout mixing, and preparation for mobilising to and from projects. He is also responsible for running onshore trials.
Hugh has worked in most of the energy production areas including India, China, North Korea, Malaysia, Gulf of Mexico, USA, Canada and the North Sea.

Chris Boyd, Offshore Supervisor
Chris started with FoundOcean in 1996 as an Operator and Technician. He was promoted to Offshore Supervisor in 2005. Based in our Livingston Offshore Service Base, his main roles are supervision and maintenance of the offshore plant, and preparation of shipping and certification documentation for offshore projects.
When offshore Chris supervises and manages the whole grouting operation from executing the work to the reporting and documentation. Chris has supervised projects all over the world including Malaysia, Korea, India, Brazil, GoM and North Sea.
